Mobatech Launches Mobile Checkbook Version 2.0
Latest Version Of Nationally Acclaimed Software Makes It Easier Than Ever For Consumers To Manage Their Finances Using Their Cell Phone

Bloomfield Hills, Mich., - May 14, 2004 - Mobatech today announced the launch of Mobile Checkbook version 2.0, an upgrade to the powerful financial software that allows consumers to enter banking transactions and maintain their checking account balances using a standard cell phone.

Currently used by thousands of consumers in more than 20 countries throughout the world, the Mobile Checkbook application replaces check registers as we know them today, and allows a simpler, more lifestyle-friendly way for individuals to maintain their bank accounts.

Upon receiving a monthly bank statement, consumers can easily determine if their account is balanced by verifying their statement against the Mobile Checkbook balance. Mobile Checkbook version 2.0 includes a number of new features, such as support for an unlimited number of bank accounts, and e-mail functionality allowing consumers to send account transactions directly from their cell phone to a home or office computer. The software application is now available directly from the Mobatech Website (www.mobatech.com) via a simple download for a one-time fee of less than $7.

Mobile Checkbook version 2.0 was developed using standard Java technology - deployed on 75 million handsets by 34 cell phone carriers worldwide. The software is currently available to SprintPCS, Nextel, T-Mobile, Cingular and AT&T; Wireless customers in the US and Vodafone, Orange, O2 and T-Mobile in the UK.

"The market size for cell phone content is currently around $6 billion and it's expected to reach nearly $20 billion by 2007," said Greg Schwartz, CEO, Mobatech. "Consumer demand for new technology has leveled off during the past three years, but the demand for cell phone content has experienced explosive growth during that same time period.

"The industry has seen a sales increase of 18% during the first quarter of 2004, fueled by a consumer appetite for new, fully loaded handsets," Schwartz continued. "Consumers are increasingly finding user-friendly cell phone applications such as Mobile Checkbook as a convenient way to simplify their lives. By 2007, 450 million cell phones are projected to include Java technology, shaping a very bright future for Mobatech and other cell phone content providers."

Mobatech's Mobile Checkbook was recently nominated as a finalist for the "2004 Best Productivity Application" category in the Handango People's Choice Awards. Mobatech currently has other lifestyle-friendly cell phone applications in production, including ImageBerry - an application that allows consumers to send photos from their cell phone to other technology devices with the simple click of a button, and Mobile Bartender - a cocktail guide that allows consumers to earmark their favorite drink recipes for easy access on their cell phone.

Mobile Checkbook version 2.0 is currently available on the Mobatech, Nextel, Motorola, Cingular, Sony Ericsson, Handango and Cellmania Websites.
